Haynes Novick Kohn has been an absolute godsend. When our contractor was picked up by ICE and detained for 6 weeks in multiple facilities all across the country, Haynes Novick Kohn managed to locate him, speak to him—despite ICE’s efforts to deny his constitutional right to counsel—and figure out a path forward. They knew exactly how to navigate today’s incredibly murky legal process, and with amazing deftness and speed, they managed to win a petition for habeas corpus and the accompanying motions, to get our contractor out on bond, and are now working on the next steps so our contractor can remain safely in the US to continue to do the good work he has done, for his clients, his community and his church, for the past 14+ years in this country. Without Haynes Novick Kohn, I shudder to think what would be happening now to our beloved contractor, as it pains me to think of the multitudes of people who are not as lucky as us and are languishing in ICE facilities across the country.
