Jesus received his J.D. from Boston University School of Law where he served as staff editor for the International Law Journal, focused his law journal note on international arbitration, and was a pro bono honors award recipient. Jesus received his B.A. cum laude from Amherst College.
Prior to law school, Jesus gained extensive experience in immigration law as a paralegal at a boutique immigration law firm in Maryland where he worked on cases involving asylum, U visa, SIJ, adjustment of status, naturalization, and family- and marriage-based matters.
Jesus D. Zelaya began working in the immigration legal setting in 2016 and has experience in the civil litigation and arbitration setting as well. Throughout his time in law school, Jesus concentrated on immigration issues and worked as an immigration Pro Bono volunteer at a Boston law firm. He was part of the International Human Rights Clinic at Boston University School of Law working on the migrant disappearances project where he worked to analyze the migrant disappearances occurring in Mexico.
Jesus is fluent in Spanish and enjoys using his Spanish to better serve clients and their needs. Coming from an immigrant familial background, Jesus has always been passionate about immigration law.
